Outcome Reports Overview

ICA has developed several reports that can be utilized to evaluate the performance of the projects within the CoC and the impact those projects are having. These project-level reports may be run by agency staff with a BusinessObjects license.

If you have any questions about these reports, or BusinessObjects reporting in general, we encourage you to reach out to our helpdesk via the "Contact the Helpdesk" button in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.

Bed nights reports are designed to allow agencies to monitor how many nights of stay a project is providing during a reporting period. Bed nights, or nights of stay, is one of the outcome measures frequently used by housing projects to monitor use of their beds. The Bed Nights by Project Report was built by the ICA Wyoming reporting team. It is not one of HUD's System Performance Measures.

Bed Turnover Rate is the rate at which beds are made available for a given project. While typically used in hospital settings, Bed Turnover Rate can also be used by providers and agencies to evaluate the speed and efficiency with which clients receive services.

This report is designed to approximate HUD's System Performance Measure 1: Length of Time Persons Experience Homelessness. This report calculates length of time in each homeless program (Emergency Shelters, Transitional Housing projects, and Safe Havens) rather than across all programs in the CoC.

This report is designed to approximate HUD's System Performance Measure 3: Number of Persons Experiencing Sheltered Homelessness. This report calculates the unduplicated count of clients served by homeless programs (Emergency Shelters, Transitional Housing projects, and Safe Havens). The calculation is specific to each project, rather than across all programs in the CoC as in the System Performance Measure.

The Provider Risk Score report was initially designed by the Wisconsin Balance of State Continuum of Care for use in measuring the impact of each of their funded projects. The history of the Provider Risk Score and details regarding how it was developed and how it is calculated are available in this article (pdf). This guide is designed to provide only a very brief summary of how the guide is utilized within the Wyoming HMIS implementation, and we encourage those who are interested in learning more to read the article (pdf)
